Got Wisdom?, Day 3

In the past two blogs, we have learned that we need wisdom and God desires to give us wisdom abundantly.

Here is another verse on this subject.  Proverbs 4:7a says, "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom."  This verse says that wisdom is tops, supreme, above all.  Then the author of Proverbs commands us to get it!

Sure sounds easy but let's get real.  Getting is wisdom is a little harder than it sounds.

Below are four suggestions that our pastor gave for us to gain wisdom.

1.  Ask for it.  James 1:5
Do I start off my day by asking God for wisdom?

2.  Go to the Word.  Psalms 19:7
God's Word is filled with wisdom and the Holy Spirit will guide me to understanding.

3.  Surround yourself with wise people.  Prov. 13:20, I Cor. 15:33
Am I surrounded by godly women?  Women who deeply desire to grow in their relationship with God?

4.  Look for patterns of God's work in your life.  Where is God leading you in past experiences?
What has my past taught me about God and how I should live?

Last night as I was putting Bubs to bed, he asked, "If I wrote a letter to God, would He answer it?".  As I unwrapped this out-of-the-blue question I realized that Bubs desired wisdom for what he should do when he grows up.  As we talked, I shared the four ways {above} that God gives me wisdom along with a specific example.

Just another demonstration that my children are watching me for their example.  Will they see me gaining worldly wisdom?  Will they see me trying to do it all in my own strengthen?

Or, will I moment-by-moment tap into the source of wisdom?

My decision will be under the surveillances of little eyes.

How are you gaining your "wisdom?"
