And the Winner Is...James!

After tallying the votes, it was decided that our first online Bible study will be Beth Moore's James: Mercy Triumphs.  And I can't be more excited!  James is often times considered the "Proverbs of the New Testament" due to its wisdom for our daily lives.  Everyone I know who has done this study has nothing but fabulous things to say about it.  And by doing this study in our SISTERS at ABCJLM group and/or on the ABCJLM Forum, you will have the accountability and opportunity to learn with women around the globe!

Study: James: Mercy Triumphs

Description:
The James: Mercy Triumphs Member Book by "Beth Moore provides a personal study experience five days a week plus viewer guides for the 8 video sessions of this in-depth women's Bible study. James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer. 8 video sessions with 7 weeks of print study.... Plus, Beth introduces a 5-tiered study approach that she has never done before."

Supplies Needed:
James: Mercy Triumphs Member Book
- This is the "devotional" book.  Each lesson is divided into five sections to work through in a week.  Please order this book so that you are ready to begin February 4th.

Here are a few options.
Amazon - $16.75 (Eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping)
Christianbook.com - $18.99 + Shipping
Lifeway - $14.95 + Shipping

Optional Supplies:
While the Beth Moore studies are amazing, it is what she shares in the video sessions that brings the study to life.  The video sessions are not just a review of what you learned during the week but added insight and background that Beth pulls into the learning.  All of her studies are best done with the addition of the videos.  Each session is approximately 60 minutes long.

With that said, the video sessions are an additional cost and are only offered in individual downloads.  With the purchase, you will have License ownership of the videos for the life of your computer.
Download Individual Video Segments - Lifeway - $4.99 per segment
A cheaper, though less exciting, option is the purchase the Audio Cd's.  The Cd's contain the audio portion of the teaching segment.  (Thus you don't get to see Beth as she speaks.)
Audio Cd Set - Christianbook.com - $49.99 + Shipping
Audio CD Set - Lifeway - $39.99 + Shipping
Download Individual Audio Segments - Lifeway - $3.99 per segment

FYI. It has the option to purchase the videos in the app but many reviews say it does not work.
