We Need Girlfriends!

I have blogged several times about the importance of having godly women in your life. God made us relational for a reason. To be able to grow and stay strong as a mom, we need the support and love a close friend can give.

I found this poem several years ago and wanted to share.

A friend is one who STRENGTHENS you with prayers,
BLESSES you with love,
and ENCOURAGES you with hope.

Do you have a friend like this in your life? Are you a friend like this in another woman's life?

If you do not have a woman like this in your life, I encourage you to pray for one.  Ask God to provide you with a friend who can hold you accountable and help you keep perspective in the craziness of life.
Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
For me, God has provided many of these friendships through church and Bible studies.

Other possible sources:  the ABCJLM Forum, ABCJesusLovesMe Facebook Group, and 5:16 Gal Facebook Group.  There may be women in these groups that live close to you.  But, you will never know until you ask!

How does your girlfriend bless you?  Take a moment to brag on her!

  1. Such wise advice! I am doing a True Woman study with a wonderful group of ladies bi-weekly and being "relational" is a main topic. I have to brag on all those women. It is wonderful, and rare, to have a group of women who can be so honest with each other and yet suffer no judgment from one another. I also think that meeting in each other's homes lends to a more conducive environment for female bonding.
