February: Making Memories

Several months ago I mentioned that my mom gave me a 1993 issue of Shining Star magazine.  Included in this issue is an excerpt from Jody Capehart's book - Cherishing and Challenging Your Children.  The article called "Making Meaningful Memories", contains practical tips to create family traditions and memories throughout the year.  Each month, I will be featuring suggestions from this article and Ms. Capehart's book.

1.  Make a "Love Tree" with Bible verses on love.
2.  Make homemade bread, kneaded with your love, for people who may need a little special love.  Put a love message on a loaf and deliver it with your children.  Children love to make bread and this could become an ongoing ministry.  I think freshly baked bread is one of the nicest ways to say, "I love you."  {Cookies, quick bread, or muffins are great too!}
3.  Make valentine cookies.
4.  Make love meals for shut-ins.
5. Make handmade valentines for people who normally do not get valentines.
